Ocean Waves and Rock. Laura finished this painting and was not happy with it, she could not make sense of the waves in the foreground. She put the painting on a shelf on one side of the room, and went to sit down on the other side of the room. About an hour or two later, she looked up and THERE IT WAS. What was disordered up close made sense from a distance, and the waves spilled around and over the rock, just as they should have.

This is an impressionist painting, and it does not show the wave detail up close, but DOES do so across the room.
